"Thuvia Ptarth" is the title of an early draft of Virginia Woolf's first novel,
The Voyage Out. I will now reveal that, um, I could not finish reading it (I read the final draft!) because it was full of lovely drifting passages that didn't go anywhere, much like my own fanfiction. ::cough:: I reveal this because I trust you, strangers on the Internet. I trust you to already know I'm pretentious or to just not care anymore.
It's a nonsense word made up of the Greek words for "honey" and "ambrosia." I picked it because it sounded pretty and it seemed unlikely to be confused with anyone else's pseudonym and I love Virginia Woolf.
When I decided to split off my fic journal, I picked "untrue_accounts" because this quote by Marina Warner seemed to me to express the appeal and purpose of fanfiction:
Every telling of a myth is a part of that myth: there is no ur-version, no authentic prototype, no true account.
In retrospect, I should have just gone with "thuviafic."
