Since I haven't touched this since 7/25 ... yeah, let's call it abandoned. Also, I am proud of myself for having tried writing comedy in 2004, but prouder of the scenes which are actually funny. Slapstick is clearly not my metier.

Also, this is anime!Fujisaki. Manga!Fujisaki is just Tohma, Jr. and like Tohma, Sr. he gives me the creeps.

Distraction flashfic (from wordsofastory this time around)

Request a drabble flashfic in any fandom you think I might be reasonably familiar with. Pairing & situation of your choice, though I reserve the right to make the pairing nonromantic if I don't think I can pull the romance off.

I swear I did try to google it, but I couldn't find the right search terms. Four not entirely unrelated questions:

1. Do people have birthday parties with their friends in Japan, a la Western tradition (drinking, presents, etc.), or is it just the more formal dressing up and visiting shrines thing?
   
2. Are birthdays determined by the Japanese or Western calendar?
   
3. How would you take care of academics for a kid with theater/music job? I.e., in the U.S. child actors with regular jobs usually end up with private tutors and take standardized exams; is there a Japanese equivalent? Or do kids just drop high school if they're over 14, since it's optional?
   
4. Where would one post Gravitation fic?
   

I was so delighted some of you actually signed up to read this (including, to be honest, people I thought just had dead journals) that I was planning to put real content here this morning. So I put on my current vid obsession, and started taking notes, and an hour later it was time to go to work and I had a 1500 words of notes and 0 words of coherency or timestamps. At some point, I will remember that it's helpful to note down timestamps and not just lyric phrases before I want to refer back to the previous section of the vid. Or I will give up, because this vid review thing is hard. Now I remember why I never do it and am just a bandwidth-hogging air-wasting parasite on good vidders everywhere.
