I thought I wanted change, and then LJ rolled out an improvement that meant I had to use a different layout if I did not want all the subject lines on my f'list to be black stripes and I realized I did not want change at all.
Fortunately, at some point I figured out that if I disabled "Use custom colors for friends list," the subject lines on my f'list would become readable again. All my friends using this lj layout whose f'lists I skim when procrastinating at work should make the same change.
