Navel-gazing ahoy

It seems arrogant to say so, but I like most of my stories. There's always a sentence or two that makes me cringe, but for the most part I like my prose and I think the stories succeed at what I attempted. The things that dissatisfy me are more often that in retrospect what I was attempting doesn't seem worth doing.

So keeping it to things where I had a particular goal and failed:
