Vidding Love Meme

I am in a terrible mood, so I would like to make it better by seeing people say nice things about vids. Let's do a vidding love meme.

Instructions/Rules

  1. Comment with your username, a link to your vids, and the fandoms you vid for (or a selection you've vidded the most for, if you're all over the place).
  2. People will comment telling you what their favorite vid by you is, what show/character/pairing they think you vid best, and other positive comments. They can also mention what they think you should vid more of, or anything else concerning what they like about your vidding. If you don't want anything like suggestions for what you should vid more, just mention it in your original comment.
  3. Post it to your journal!
  4. This is a love meme. No wank, no insults, no concrit. Just the love!

Your vids are so full of heart and that makes me full of heart and just, ♥.

In particular of late: "Singing Hallelujah" and "Firework." And "kneel before the queen."

Also: I find myself telling random people about the cleverness of "Let's Go the Mall." :)

MAKE THE GIRL DANCE GAVE ME LIFE.

I love your off kilter editing, like with your Let the Right One In vid. And the Boomer vidlet. And the Amber vid you made which might have been a House vid, but I remember the Amber bits the most. Convenient Parking is still amazing. Your Morgana vid still has a place in my heart.

I like your brain. I like how you can expound for paragraphs upon paragraphs about vidding and about the process behind your vids and about what you see in others' vids. And I like how you can turn around and make something silly too, like the Batman dance vid. Also you make some damn clever music and spoken-word selections.

Feather Moooooooooon, I love it so. Also I've Just Seen a Face! Such a lovely pure expression of loving Amy's Karen Gillan and her face.

Also, hey, look at all those DW vids I haven't seen yet! *bookmarks*

I always love hearing about the new vids you're working on, and I don't think I've had a visceral reaction to a vid as strongly as I did to the Black Swan vid you made.

My vids are here - Classic cinema and television, horror movies, Doctor Who, multifandom vids ahoy.

Your vids are like fresh air. They inspire me (obviously) and they occasionally humble me.

Soccer Practice makes me chortle with joy, which is saying a lot for a non-SGA guy.

Firstly, I am forever indebted to you for Imagine, from sooo long ago, bc it was so interesting and beautiful and absolutely inspired me to do a couple ridiculous vid projects that were so fun and such good practice!

I still love Spiralling so much, even though I failed at keeping up with the show. It was such a good recruiter vid and so badass and such a good Kiera character study against the complexity of the show's ideas.

And who can forget Cross Bone Style. NOT ME. I love the use of place so much and it's such a satisfying look at Ree and her world and her resilence.

I would looooove to see you vid Juliette Barnes and her pain and strength. Which I know is cheating to say but it's SO TRUE.

I don't even know how you... *flails*

You're a goddamn wizard, finding the unexpected angles and blowing minds.

Betterman, as an example, is something that is so right, but I have no idea how you even conceived of it in the first place.

It's been an honor to watch you grow from a little baby vidder into the confident, powerful, skilled being you are today. Your sense of montage leaves me in awe.

Blue Caravan is absolutely gorgeous, visually and thematically; it's always blown me away as such a good example of how the perfect combination show + song + vidder = magic.

Also I recently watched Uptown Funk with runawaynun like three times in a row during an impromptu vid show. It was basically our fav, and I had the song in ny head for at least a week! And I didn't even mind because it reminded me of your delightful vid :D

I remember watching the Journey vid and thinking, "This vidder is going places." And you've totally proved me right, go you! I love everything I've watched from you. You have such a great sense of motion and emotion.

Dynamite made me finally watch Brooklyn 99 with its sheer delight, which was the best life choice! And Classic was such a good surprise when I clicked play; I didn't know I'd have Barbie feelings but then there was this stylish, clever, wonderfully edited vid and I just enjoy the hell out of it. I also <3 Barry Allen feelings. :D

I Follow You! Whyyy was there not more of that show, whyyy were there not more vids as beautiful as yours. It is so atmospheric and makes such effective use of the creepy tension of the show and the shapes and objects. Always worth a rewatch!

Your TSCC vids are exactly the vids I aspire to make, thinky and beautifully edited and perfect song choices and chock full of meaning. I have trouble with words because they just hit me in the robot heart. Army of Me blows my mind every time I watch it, and makes me dissolve into a useless puddle of all my feelings about those characters. Same with Lost at Sea too, because OH JESSE.

I still haven't seen Life, but Children's Work is an amazing character study even without context. I wore that vid out watching it for like a year! (It was also my introduction to Dessa, so obviously that was fabulous!)

You know how much I love Hey Ho, but you may not know how much I love Names and Riot Girl. Names in particular is a vid that I think of when I just want to watch something lovely.
chaila: A close up of Bella's red eye when she wakes up as a vampire. (twilight - bella)

I think I've said this before but I'll say it again because it's true: multiple times I've really loved a vid for a fandom I don't know and it turned out to be yours. Never Seen the Light of Day, The Monster, You and I Sail, probably others I've forgotten. Your game vids! I just love your editing and emotion.

And not so secretly, I came up with a theme for a vid show to fit Veins and found other vids to go with it, just so I could play it at Wiscon. I love it so much!

Home! That vid is everything! Like all your vids, it's so full of ladies and feeelings. It is such a perfect encapsulation of the show and what makes it so wonderful, the camaraderie and sense of belonging that dancing gives them all, and how much they love it and each other!

I'll echo what someone else said: yours were some of the first vids I ever watched (SPN being my first exposure to fandom), and they really inspired me--after a long period of indecision and ridiculousness-- to start vidding myself! :)

Learn to Fly and kneel before the queen were some of my favorite festivids that year. They both captured the core characters and relationships so well, but they were soooo different, which I loved. And I did not know about this Pixar project but I am excited to catch up! (Also MLP! Ahh clearly I need to take a trip through your back catalog!)

I know I need to see Edge of Tomorrow, but All You Need is Kill is so good that I feel like I don't need to (I will). And Peggy punching dudes is always great! I like how your song choices so often resonate with the source in specific ways, like the period sensibility of your Peggy cover.

You vidded me Skynet!!!! I also often rewatch Joy to the City & your Batman '66 (/Gotham) vids! One of my favorite things about your work is how you see the humor in high concept and the high concept in humor and how you aren't afraid to be idiosyncratically yourself, even if you're the only one who will get it without footnotes. Your John the Messiah vid is a good example of that: it took a common way of thinking about John Connor & the show and ran with it in directions I wasn't familiar with, but that made so much sense when explained.

Also: I haven't forgotten the high concept crack vid I owe you! Thank goodness we didn't set a deadline.
