1: Name your ten favourite titles from stories you've written (or, if you're not a writer, just name your ten favourite titles).
You know, I can't tell if how much I like the title affects how much I like the story. Would I like some of the others better if they had better titles? Although some of the above are better titles than the stories they got slapped on, sadly.
2: If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence/paragraph/whatever from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favorite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).
It's my favorite because I had to cut it. And because it references my favorite Crazy Conspiracy Massive Apocalyptic Ending Theory for this series, which alas does not work with this story.
Bake Sale: A Mixed Media Collage
The Dark Is Light Enough
Exercises in Genre Theory
The Language of Angels
No Oceans Left
On the Way to Grandmother's House
Remembering Amnesia
Rewritten on the Body
Sleep for Grief
What Flesh Felt

That's not why. Her blind eyes are mirrors, and he cannot escape his reflection, tinted pink as cherry blossoms. You know how it will end. You know you'll have to kill him then, when he gives up being Enma's dog.

All right, all right, you're the writer. And yet, I still feel the need to ask plaintively whether you are quite sure it doesn't simply want a different story to be in, if it really doesn't belong in the one where it started.

I am sure it belongs to a different story. It belongs to the Crazy Conspiracy Theory Apocalyptic Ending story which I will never have the patience or energy to write, as it involves loads of plot and action and stuff. I am happy to explain the Crazy Conspiracy Theory Apocalyptic Ending to anyone stuck in a long car ride with me, though. Ask

I've also had to take stuff out of a working draft and put it away, or elsewhere, even if it was the original seed. :-p

You might like YnM and then again you might not. Hard to tell. If you try it, start with the anime, not the manga. (US title: Descendants of Darknees.)

Even if it's is unlikely ever to be completed, it makes me happy to know that this paragraph does have a home. It certainly deserves one.
