Doctor Who updates

I have now seen Season Martha, Season Donna, the post-Season Donna specials, and part of Season Rose Mark Two.

Here are my thoughts:
Martha = awesome
Donna = awesome
Donna-Doctor dynamic = awesome
Ten = kinda emo
Rose in Season Donna = kinda soppy
The Unicorn and the Wasp = the only Who episode involving an historical writer or artist figure which I don't hate, even though the plot makes no sense
The End of Time = You suck, Russell T. Davies
The Next Doctor = You suck and your misogyny sucks, Russell T. Davies
The Waters of Mars = No, seriously, I hate you

I think I am unhappy with how every single companion ended up except maybe Mickey. I may be the only Martha/cute pediatrician guy shipper in existence, but I am sad at my 'ship's untimely end and also at Dr. Martha Jones ending up hunting aliens down. The only thing that makes this not my unhappiest thing ever about New Who is that I got teased with Donna re-appearing and she was fucking sidelined and she didn't get to remember and then some moron decided you could contain radiation in a glass case and then there was dramatic staggering in the snow and in short if you have Donna fix-it fic, feel free to recommend it in the comments.

Also, I will mention that, after The End of Time, I was like, I HATE DOCTOR WHO NOW ALL THE TIME, but I did quite like series 5 with the new doctor and Amy, so. Eleven doesn't have Ten's manpain! The manpain is gone! The show is much better, though still not perfect. So you may enjoy it as a palliative to all that Ten.

finisterre has a lovely story in which Doctor-Donna meets up with Mulder at various points during both of their lives. It's quite awesome.

I really love Doctor-Donna stories, and there are a few of them out there. There's also a Doctor-Martha story (in which John Smith stays John Smith and Martha opens the watch) that I really like, but I'm damned if I can remember who wrote it. And there was someone who was writing an awesome story in which Donna started getting her memories back but I'm damned if I can recall who it was...

I like Mickey, I do! But I totally agree with you about Martha and Tom. For one thing, it made the universe larger, and seemed less like someone pairing off the POC.

I will hunt down some of my Donna Fixit fics. I know there's a Season 5 with Donna as Time Lady who gets her own TARDIS.
