I know - I'm seriously beginning to resent that LJ/Dreamwidth doesn't have a kudos button.

Right now, my reaction is that I would never do it. It seems alien to the LJ/DW culture and to the form in which reaction is solicited (a comment box), though I have seen it around, especially in suggestion posts. I'd hit a kudos button or a +1 button, though!

[personal profile] recessional has been putting a poll at the end of her fic entries to serve as a kudos button. "I would like to leave kudos on this story", with a single response button for "Yes". I don't know if anyone else is using that particular work-around, but I kind of like it.
