YOU'VE GOT TO SEE THIS

So I downloaded this vid from somewhere and I am really not sold on the opening, the epileptic jerkiness of the flashes, but it smoothes out a bit, and it's kind of interesting and then there's Kendra. When was the last time you saw a vid with Kendra? I have no idea, but the last time I saw a vid with Kendra might be never. And so there's Buffy, and she's lonely-alone, and there's Faith, and then there's Kendra, and Kendra really makes a difference, Kendra makes even the Faith clips seem new and exciting, the Faith clips I've seen a thousand times in a hundred different vids, and then, and then, and then it gets better and better and better and then there's the axe and there's the "Chosen" montage dissolving into "Graduation Day" and the thrown axe and the women and the four from "Primeval," and it's Buffy, y'all, it's Buffy and her sisters and Buffy and her friends and why it was Buffy's story all along, why it had to be her, why she made that choice, it's about all the Slayers and about Buffy all at the same time, and this is it, I can't tell you how much this is it, but that's so BUFFY, and ohmygod there she is, my Buffy, that's my girl.

And the end credits tell me it's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams Songs" by shati, so you should check it out, and if you checked it out already, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME? Oh, my girl. My very favorite girl.

I have downloaded, but I have not, due to the Zero Morale Crew drinking post-work last night and emergency niece-sitting after that, had time to watch. Now it sits on my desktop, waiting for a moment not defined by small children.

Wow. That just got exponentially better as it went along; I got chills at the end. And resisted the urge to jump up and cheer. Also, for such a fantastic character, Buffy doesn't really get that many vids of her own, does she? So I'm doubly happy with this one on that count.

(FYI, it's "Boulevard of Broken Songs" - I was wondering, as I waited for it to download, how you could make a non-trite Buffy vid to "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," and apparently the answer was: by mashing it up with other things. Which worked really amazingly well, especially with Faith as the literal and figurative counterpoint to Buffy.)

Right? The beginning could be stronger, but my god by the time you get to the midpoint it's incredible.

Which worked really amazingly well, especially with Faith as the literal and figurative counterpoint to Buffy.

I love the focus on Faith as a sister, paralleled with Dawn, not just with the other Slayers.
