  1. I can't believe I need another external hard drive already. Although it's not so much vidding source as vidding source plus music. Vidding source plus music plus backups.

    Do I want a 1TB drive or 1.5TB drive?

  2. I am at the part where I hate this vid so much and just want it to be done already. Done! I can't wait to hit the euphoria of completing a draft. That part is much better.

  3. I have managed to figure out what I did wrong with the video compression in my Nearly New vid, but what I did wrong with the audio still eludes me.

  4. Making subtitles is really easy! I haven't figured out how to pack them into an avi and have multiple tracks work, even though it looks like it should be obvious. May need to just do a separate subtitle file.

Financially, it doesn't make sense

because .5T drives cost almost as much as 1T drives...but 3 .5Ts are way faster than a 1.5.

At least as long as you are clear what's on each. Seriously, search speeds are starting to get me down on the big drives.

And the biggest solid state drive is only about 128, and it's $500. We're a ways away from happySandy place; that's all I can say.

My advice, if you have the money, is to 'buy more than you need' because the trend in computing is that applications get upgraded to take more and more room with their files, so you will stretch the usable life of your external hard drive even if its more than you need at this exact moment....

I learned that same thing with #1. I got one hard drive and music pretty much filled it up along with episodes. But a second one for DVDs helps a lot. Bigger is always better if you can afford it.

Good luck on the vid!

The sad thing is I am already up to two, plus the internal hard drive which is a generous 500GB.
