Vidding
I finished the draft! I am so excited! I am so bummed out! Now I think it sucks, and everything's too slow except for the parts that are too fast, and it doesn't matter because every single clip choice in the entire thing is awful anyway.

destina said this is normal. I vaguely remember similar feelings upon finishing long stories. Hmm.
I need to mess with the AVS script because the brightest whites are too white. I should only have this problem with my laundry.
But do you know what this means?Revisions! Time to watch TV! I have already watched last night's SPN and this weekend I can catch up on Life and SCC and Pushing Daisies and possibly some things on DVD! Oh, leisure time not spent vidding and bitching about boring life stuff, I have missed you!
I have dimly noticed there has been
yuletide discussion in the background. Dear flist, my earnest
yuletide desire for a couple of years now has been for someone to write me fiction for a cult sci-fi movie starring Christopher Eccleston, Eddie Izzard, and Derek Jacoby.
astolat has kindly put together a brief presentation illustrating the film's merits. Please consider it when preparing your Yuletide fandoms lists. Sincerely, thuvia.

storyvid." I think I will hold off for now, but I would love for you take a look at the final draft just so I can get a fresh take on it from someone who hasn't been influenced by the course corrections or previous beta conversations.no subject
(Yay draft! I remember how, when making my very amateur one-and-only vid, I spent eight hours sticking clips together and when I was done I was like "this is a vid! a thing! clips that fill an entire song! whee!")(And yes, I only spent eight hours on that draft, but in my defense I was using Windows Movie Maker and at the time, only had about 14 hours of canon total to work with.) (In conclusion, once again, yay draft!)

Historical RPF for people as long dead as Antony and Brutus doesn't bother me; I just don't think I know enough about the period, people, and events to do it. But I could fake Rome for sure. It's not much canon to rewatch.
I want to go home and start revising my vid. It's so addictive. I can't wait for the books on After Effects I ordered to get here. Although in retrospect I kind of wish I'd done Vid #2 first, as Vid #2 will be shorter, has much less source, and should not require any particular effects knowledge except maybe for titles.

That's so, so cool that you have the opportunity/ability/dedication to really learn how to vid and get the programs and books and everything. I was just like "ehhh, cleaning up the footage that was cut from .avis because the DVDs weren't out yet, and worrying about the incredible imprecision of not being able to cut less than .1 of a second off? Pfff.

(b) Probably sooner or later I will give up and just make a vid about how goddamn gorgeous Dean Winchester is, but right now I'm making the vids that I want to see but which I can't find out there and don't think will ever be out there unless I make or commission them. Or trying to -- this vid has shifted considerably since my first conception of it, because I just couldn't pull it off, but still. That's where I started, anyway.
(Though am quite serious about doing Vid #2035 on How Gorgeous Is That Dean Winchester Guy, Anyway?)

Sounds normal to me.
Maybe you should iterate/reiterate that Eddie. Izzard. Cuts himself.
My pitch is always Christopher Eccleston kills EVERYBODY IN THE WHOLE WORLD! Including Eddie Izzard and Sir Derek Fucking Jacobi! Strangely, this pitch is not always successful. *is puzzled* And you could hit up HUSTLE fans because Marc Warren is in it, too, and ponces about--AND he guest-starred in DW that one time! See, it's a double-play for DW fans!

And hee, I laugh with a certain wry reluctance because I have been on the same rollercoaster you describe since I finished my vid draft too. (It is currently backburnered until after the high holidays. As you might expect, I'm oddly busy at this season. *g*)
