I emailed the Concom with some requests/suggestions before the con and was amazed at their responsiveness. I didn't give them much lead time and didn't expect them to be able to make many or any changes before next year, and they far surpassed my expectations and had entirely reasonable explanations for not implementing other suggestions immediately or at all.
This is a brainstorming post, not a call to the Concom, because some of the things came up during the con, some came up after, and all of them are ideas I am playing with but am not convinced are the best way to resolve issues. Indeed, people have praised some of them and criticized others.
I'm willing to do some things that I can do online and ahead of time, such as documenting procedures and guidelines that will help the Concom expand or organizing vidder workshops, if enough people responding end up thinking those are good ideas. I'm not sure I will be attending the con next year, and experience has shown me that I do not have the physical or mental resources to do a lot of volunteering *at* the con, so no, I am not myself volunteering to assist with those things.
But before sorting out who will do what, I wanted more community feedback on what exactly was a good idea.
