I found out today that Wicked Amp had a new Faith vid--well, new to me, anyway; she put it up in February. Like all her live-action vids, it's got the really unusual look of anime techniques applied to live action: odd frames and image cut-out; heavy effects; an unusual focus on internal action and movement; color-tinting, negatives, and breaks to static for emotional effect; probably more and shorter cuts than usual (although not necessarily, compared to, say, [livejournal.com profile] sisabet).

My favorite of her vids remains "Break Me Off A Switch," which is probably where you should start if you haven't tried her work before. "Slot A" isn't entirely successful; there are multiple parts where I wish someone had taken away her effects toolbox, and either cut out the effects or made her use a smaller subset of them, because some of the choices look downright silly. But where the vid works, it really works.

And I don't often see new Faith vids which don't feel like they're covering ground I've seen covered before and better.

Her Angel/Buffy vids are here and her anime vids are here. People who got the 2003 Vividcon discs may have already seen one of the latter, "One Million Miles," a Read or Die vid, which back then I found incomprehensible but fascinating.

I do so love Slot A (even though I can never remember the title and just call it the Paint It Black cover vid. *g*) It loses me briefly in the section with individual cells of the filmstrip being highlighted, but then I'm back on the train again.

Huh. WinAmp couldn't play it, and VideoLan crashed about 45 seconds in. ::shrugs helplessly::
